Day Four!

Day four:

The fourth day was tiring. We ended up going to the redwood forest in the morning to go for a hike. It was raining that morning. My shoes and backpack and pants were soaked. But I was able to see Redwood trees and take public transportation, both of which were new experiences. After getting soaked we were able to go back to the hotel and dry off. After that we left the hotel headed toward Auckland. The ride was long so we stopped for lunch. I had an egg and bacon pie. It was sooo good. When we arrived in Auckland we headed for Rangitoto College. There, we got to meet our pen pals. And have a really fun party. My pen pal was super nice and we had a ton of really good conversations. We got to learn the haka from some of the students. I still remember it and I wish there was an appropriate place to do it because it was so much fun. I loved going to the school because we were able to see what school is like for them. After that day I wanted to move to New Zealand.

Response: Morning: In the morning of day 3 we pretty much got soaking wet. Sprinting to the wrong bus stop and then back to the correct ones was quite tiring. The public transportation was really cool to do because it was similar and different to public transportation here. The bus was smaller yet the paying system was similar. Hiking in the redwood forest while it was raining steadily was interesting to say the least. After that We were able to go back to the hotel and rest and dry off, which I was very thankful for.
Afternoon: the afternoon was spent mostly on the bus. We were headed for Auckland to meet our pen pals. Stopping for lunch was fun because the pie I had was delicious. I liked the ride because we got to see more of the beautiful scenery. Yes the afternoon was slow but I was excited to go to Rangitoto college to meet the students so it wasn’t all bad. Meeting the students was really fun because we learned so much about them and their school.
