Day one!

Day one:

Our first day of this amazing experience was spent traveling. When we met at the school it didn’t really feel like we were going. I think it really hit me that we were going to another part of the world when we were filling out immigration forms on the plane to New Zealand. The flight from Chicago to LA was quite uncomfortable. I wasn’t able to sleep at all but there was a good movie on so it wasn’t all bad. The flight from LA to Auckland was definitely something I wasn’t expecting. The seats had more room and were more comfortable. I had so much more room that it made me feel so much less nervous. I liked the individual tv screens because it made it so that each person could enjoy the flight more.  The food was...ok, I guess. I’m just glad that I packed snacks. The entire day of travel was an experience in itself that’s for sure. Everything was so new that I didn’t really mind the tediousness of customs and security. The exhausting day of travel was so worth it.
